What does your ideal home look like?
My homemaker heart yearns to create a space for my family to feel at peace.
Four walls to protect my family from the chaos of our world. A shelter in the storm. A safe port.
The roof staves off the elements. My baby sleeps warm and safe. Rain dances on the tin, creating a lullaby.
A kitchen as the heart of the home, nourishing bodies and hearts through bringing us together. The table is set with a bouquet of flowers from the garden. A bowl is filled with fruit. In a perfect world, there would always be fresh bread or cookies in the oven.
Windows let in the sunshine and beckon us outside. They create a painting that changes slightly every day, always perfectly on theme for the season.
Doors swing wide to bring in friends and close tight to keep out the winter wind. They stand as gateways to endless exploration outside. Like a portal in a fairytale.
Good music floats through the rooms.
Warm beds made with fresh linens.
Pictures of loved ones and beautiful things hang on the walls.
An open Bible sits on the coffee table.
These are the things I try to capture and create in my ideal home. Many days the laundry builds up and the dishes sit unwashed. But if my family is comfortable and at peace, that is my highest priority as a homemaker.
