“Do ordinary things with extraordinary love.” ~ Mother Theresa
What are you doing this evening?
Today is one of those ordinary days, and my evening plans are far from exciting. However, this kind of evenings are my favorite.
Dinner with my husband. A time when we talk about our day and enjoy eating a meal together. Leftovers go in a container for his lunch the next day.
Bedtime routine with my 7.5 month son, which includes watching him play with his Dad, bathtime, and warm, clean pjs. Playtime always includes lots of tickles and squealing and giggles. There is nothing like going to sleep after a belly laugh with a full love tank and feeling cozy in pjs.
After bedtime, we sit outside until it’s dark, and then Ben often crashes on the couch with a snack and a show.
As a couple, we have two very different tastes in entertainment, and very rarely do we both enjoy the same movie or show. Personally, I enjoy the Great British Baking Show, Heartland, Alone, or old Disney movies. Ben is more into anything with action. The mildest violence or any level of intense scenes will give me nightmares. If I’m in the room while he is watching something intense or scary, he will turn the sound all the way down. It helps. He takes good care of me. Neither of us likes it when I am restless from nightmares.
One of the few movies that we both enjoy is Pirates of the Caribbean. It has enough action for Ben, and it doesn’t bother my sensitive imagination.
Around 10 pm, Ben and I head to bed. If we stay up any later, it’s not good…. I guess we are getting old 😆.
Do you and your spouse enjoy the same entertainment? Please share about it in the comments!
